Never cared about the chat but NOOOOOO snux! :( :(

It was terribly outdated, but quite cool. Also all the blogs and stuff were tied with it. 'Tis a shame.

Anyway, please, expert, tell us how all this came about. How did you unclog the tubes or whatever you had to do to get us back? :p

Believe me I was not pleased about it either especially considering the amount of work it took to get it up and running in the first place. But yea, real shame indeed - there was some cool stuff on Snux, I remember somebody writing poetry on the blogs for example and stuff like that. :)

The story is not very exciting for non-techies.
We used to run a slightly uncommon database format called Postgres. One day our previous webhost informed us that he had to do a reinstall and it turns out that he had wiped out Postgres. And the only usable backup was corrupted...
Fast forward to a few weeks ago. Started playing around with the old forum's database. I had to manually fix entries which was risky but somehow miraculously managed to upgrade it to the latest version of phpBB.

PS. Just noticed this, but looks like our avatars have been lost too. :(

Brilliant! Glad we made it here in one piece for the most part. :p What an incomptent webhost, though!

Aha! I have an avatar related story to share. I became quite accustomed to my old one, which I will return to shortly, but NBP made it for me and he had the only copy. I hadn't been able to speak to him for ages. While the forum was down, but we could still view posts, I came here and snagged it. Good job I did, because not too long later, the forums went unviewable until just recently as you know. :p Long story short, I still have the avatar kicking about!

Seeing as you are the first person to reference the Mighty Ducks trilogy on the new EF, Socer11, you are now my hero.

@Expert, my poems and jokes were pretty awful. It's probably for the best that that the blogs are gone

100% fu**ing concurred on the first bit. Mighty Ducks for life. God, I wish they still were called that IRL. I wish we had hockey... I wish...

*slaps self*

bsc, get outta town, that poem about the turtle was pure beauty. I actually have a hard copy I loved it so much, haha.

afc! Missed your earlier post, you're back too! :O So key.

Furthermore, anyone in touch with panchester? I actually miss him already. :p He certainly sparked forum discussion! Somehow I'm sure everyone will find their way back with time. The Internet is a significantly better place with this forum back in action, I must say.

Wow, I never thought these forums would come back up after being down for over a year. What a suprise!

Nice Ivan :) I'm suprised to see so many people here already.
