I think it is better to be of a shorter stature in Soccer.
Your much less likely of serious leg injuries from falls, contact.
And a smaller stride means more foot movement meaning more ground to be covered
I'm a walking mess when it comes to my legs and I'm like 6'2" or 6'3" (somewhere). I'm always under pain from my joints being soo damaged genetically (I'll need prostectics soon,

i don't have these problems, father wanted me to become a pro basketball player (since i come from Serbia, and we are world champions in that, and volleyball too). when i was 9 i used to play basketball, and i still play it with friends (i am 6'3'' and going up)
stregth.......i am the strongest defender in my league , i have seen bigger players but they all fall of me when they want to get the ball
btw i am 17 yrs old and i can throw the ball from a throw in up to 35 metres

your league must have some weaklings
not saying you arent strong though,
im 17 5'11
i could do with more body mass though, i weigh 145. like all my muscle is my legs, i mean not all of it, but my legs are pretty strong, left and right, is there anyone else here that didnt start ambidextrous but are able to use both feet equally well?

Wow, he just megged three people, maradonas around the last defender, and missed the shot, then not five minutes later a guy on the other team shoots when he gets the ball and scores...
who would you rather be?

i know that you would run away from these weaklings!
listen, in modern football, strength is important
my coach has a tactic when my team is losing, he sends me to attack and says midfielders just to pass the ball to me, i can go past 3-4 players and to keep them on my back. that is how strength is important.
but because i am too strong to play in league of players born in 1988.(me)
i play for older selections, against players born in 1986. and no one can beat me even there

Well your opponents suck then, cause going past 3-4 players sure was posible in here also when we were around 7 years old, but now? not a chance if opponent has even some tactical skills, I bet that they can force you to pass the ball or to take it away from you after 2 guys. No matter how strong, fast or how good you can dribble individually, the team that plays better as a team will win. Individual skills come after it.jcdenton wrote:i know that you would run away from these weaklings!

ps. Stupid *tactic* if you ask me, but will probably work when opponent has no brains.
have you seen christian vieri holding a bunch of defenders on his back , do they suck? or have you seen emile heskey doing the same? you need to use your strength if you are wide as a cupboard and strong as a bull.
friends used to make jokes with me cause i was affraid of getting hurt when i go stronger, they told me that i had a body of a lion, and a heart of a mosquito, but that has changed now. now guys try to avoid getting hurt when try to get the ball off me.

i didn't mean that literally! i wanted to tell you that they use only their strength when playing. but you say that if i use only my strength, and if i have any success doing that in my league, then my defenders suck. i have played against defenders that were playing for national cadet team (players born 1988). there was one that was their captain, he was central back. what did i do? i used only strength. we were fighting on one whole half of court. he just couldn't get the ball off me. i managed to set a goal also. but at the end of first half i have hurt my back so i've had to leave the game. AND WHO SAYS THAT STRENGTH, STAMINA, POWER AND HEADING DON'T MAKE A COMPLETE ATTACKER?
btw i am from serbia (for stupid people that was yugoslavia)
