Should a team in the Bundesliga play friendlies against teams of a similar level?

Would a Bundesliga team benefit from playing pre season friendlies against teams of a similar level (in the UK) or play against 4th division teams at their Austrisn training camp.

I agree--a mix of both would be great. Similarly, I'd like starting XIs for these friendlies to include many fresh prospects and academy players.
