Well, I don't know how many of you were aware of this story, but we almost saw a player-strike here in the MLS. Thankfully, the player's union and MLS leadership worked out a new collective bargaining agreement. MLS players will now have greater rights, and all. I'm glad they will still play. The season's set to kick off in a few days.
This is huge for the players. I really hope this brings about much improved salaries and player movement. Not to mention length of contracts. Who would want to sign a 4 or 5 year deal to come to MLS? I think 2-3 years would be better. A player can always extend the contract.
I watched some of the Philly vs Sounders game and i'm going to be a huge Philladelphia Union fan.
Now I just have to learn about other MLS teams. I thought I wouldn't be excited at all but I am after watching the Union play they have a really skillful young squad.
And the dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true
