Bare foot

Post by cyxstudio » 28 Jun 2007, 09:33

Can anyone tell me how playing bare foot helps someone in improving certain things. Or is it good or not?

You're going to have to play with shoes no matter what, so i say just practice with shoes on all the time, because your stuck with them whenever you play in a real game.

it actually doesnt matter. Becuz if you play without your shoes, your feet and shins would most likely to become stronger in more ways than with your shoes. Even though, sometimes you might get a few things stuck in your foot, it might make the skin tougher. I know this because, my dad when he was little use to play all the time barefoot in Nigeria. and he didnt even use cleats until he was in high school. but if you feel better about playing with shoes go right ahead.

I like playing without shoes for some reason. I don't know why, but I can kick the ball further and shoot harder without any shoes and I am also more accurate at shooting without them. But I do have more control with my passing with my shoes on. Is that normal? Or does anyone know what's up with that?

Maybe your ankle bone hits the ball and sets it off direction?

Yeah that could be it. But is it normal to be hitting harder and more accurate shots and to kick to ball further while barefoot?

I dunno, I always hit harder with my boots on because I'm not worried about hurting my foot from the sting or anything.

Uh, I didn't mean to be critical of you at all... What I meant by learning something every day is that their is a tree frog named Azureus, not if it's called a client or downloader or thingamajig or whatever

In short, yes it does

"Running barefoot is associated with a substantially lower prevalence of acute injuries of the ankle and chronic injuries of the lower leg in developing countries, but well-designed studies of the effects of barefoot and shod running on injury are lacking. Laboratory studies show that the energy cost of running is reduced by about 4% when the feet are not shod. In spite of these apparent benefits, barefoot running is rare in competition, and there are no published controlled trials of the effects of running barefoot on simulated or real competitive performance. "

The whole article can be found here, it's not really that interesting though :P
