as midfielders...running back and forth is part of the trade...defending and attacking...when do we find time to get a quick 30 second rest...let the second wind stand in?

no...midfielders job is to rest...thats the manin thing of a midfielder.. stamina, half time and when the ball is kicked out of bounds in the only time my friend

Watch pro soccer, if the ball isnt on a right mids side of the field, he is walking lol.
Wow, he just megged three people, maradonas around the last defender, and missed the shot, then not five minutes later a guy on the other team shoots when he gets the ball and scores...

who would you rather be?

In a high intensity game, there's not much time to stay motionless.

It's all about walking to regain your breath, your extraordinary stamina and also finding the right times to replinish yourself etc..

Injuries do help other players on the pitch because you can take a deep breath, get a few sips of water and etc..

But the main way to "rest" is to actually walk.
