It's anticipation. Knowing what's going to happen next.

When you're playing, you scan the field constantly to know the positioning of your team and opponents. You can read the game by seeing what's happening around you, and predicting where the other team is going to play the ball, or by reading the defence and using that to your advantage when you play the ball.

Very important for defenders aswell. :wink:
