is it really tthat hard? how good do u have to be? like i see some ppl that play on US national team that are not that good sooooo uhhh? and how do u even get into it at a young age? and thats my goal in my soccer career and im sure ill make it with the determination and skill that i have.. ohh btw im 15

i suppose you either make the under 17s and then progress up the ranks, or you make a name for your self as a pro and then get called up.

i don't know how they pick the players for under 17 squad, but i'm pretty sure they take the 30/40 players they select, and then put them into residency at IMG, where they stay for a semester, training and going to school together. Then they pick the players they want to take to the u17 world cup, or whatever tournament there is that year.

My buddy is on the U17 squad, just scored his first goal I guess. He went through his club team, who are a apart of the National Academy program. They are ranked 2nd in the nation, lost in the finals. He is one of the top players on his team. US national team asked him to go to Florida for residency at IMG, and now he's on the team. Simple steps, hard to do.
