Practice/Game

Post by DR17 » 29 Aug 2010, 00:01

For some reason i can't perform in games. Our seasons have 16 games and i might play 4 good games and the rest will be average/bad. When I'am on the training ground we play games vs the older guys and i play very well, much better then games. I don't know why i can't perform to my ability. Maybe a confidence problem but i' m not sure.

wow dude i have the same problem, when im training my ball control and touch and dribbling are just great. only a few games i will perform to my potential and it makes me really mad, the other games are average for me so im in the same position as you. its pretty much you have seen yourself be a great player and perform to your potential sometimes, but then most of the time your just average or not doing good

a few things i noticed through high school that made the difference for me in games.
1. Demand the ball early and often if i didn't get the ball a few times in the first 10 minutes or so my game would be a little off the earlier you can feel comfortable in a game the better.
2. This is a common one talk lots the more you talk the more of a rhythm you build with your team and it will last 80/90 minutes.
3. Make sure you get enough to eat and drink before a game resting is also very important. Personally eating a banana before a game always worked for me not sure why but about 1 hour or so before and it seemed to top me off to get playing.
