Playing in leagues, my team members sometimes shoot out quick advice on things I didn't know to do or not to do. For example, in a recent game I was defending near our goal and when I tackled the ball free I had to shoot the ball away; thing is, I kicked it towards the center and not on the outside. Someone pointed out "that was dangerous, man; play it outside when you're close to the goal." It seems completely logical to me, now, but you only get that type of knowledge on the pitch.
I'm interested to see if someone could tally up a 10 commandment list with things NOT to do like what happened above. That way, I can function properly and not do things that could warrant criticism. Thanks!
1. Dont kick the ball in the middle in the defensive 3rd
2. Don't turn into a defender
3. Dont play as individuals
4. Don't play with the ball in the defensive 3rd
5. Don't give up open shots in the offensive 3rds unless your pass sets up ur mate 1v1 with the keep
6. Don't crowd the midfield when you have possesion. Wings get wide striker add depth and defensive give support.
7. Don't yell negatively at your teammates unless he or she is being a douche
8. Don't play the ball down the middle if the defense is playing sweeper/stopper
9. Don't DIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10. Treat the game as you want to be treated, unless you harm yourself like emo people.
PLAY BEAUTIFUL
