He's been absolutely awesome against Chelsea today. All he needs to do now to become an England regular is move to Man U, Chelsea or Middlesborogh.

he shouldnt move to man utd, man u already has cristiano, i doubt he'd get to play a lot... i think he's ok at tottenham, he has a starting role and its all going good for him. but if he has a chance to go to a better team, why not?

Ratherton is saying that all the English squad is made up from pretty much these three teams, which is pretty true. There is a whole schmorgesbord of players out of these teams who are far better than some of the fielded players (I mean, Stewart Downing?) but McClaren doesn't have the balls to select them.

By the way, I do think that Man U could use Lennon and should contemplate a January swoop for him. Lots of my Man U fan friends are going nuts about how the prem is theirs, but they forget that their vein of form is coming from some pretty old players, and the winter weather is devestating for aged legs. Therefore, if Giggs gets injured, which is highly likely, Lennon could slot into the right and Ronaldo to the left. If they do this buy, I would concede the title to them.

But I'm getting off topic, great game for Lennon, and great result for the league. The top is starting to get really open right now, and the Man U-Chelsea match coming up is setting up to be a cracker.
God damn brewery!!!

it woz good lennon scored the winner against chelsea, like mpcarres sed, it cracks the competition open with a few upsets this gameweek. Now the spurs arent on the bottom half anymore and are only 1 win behind 5th placed arsenal.

Whats wrong with Tottenham? They have better prospects for Aaron Lennon's future than Middlesbrough.

2 years ago, everyone was saying Wright-Phillips should move to Chelsea from and inferior team, which in that case was Man City and look at him; 9 games last season and a missed World Cup. What a waste.
Chelsea are not a 'wide' team and rarely use the wings and rely solely on the presence of the spine of the team.

Nothing is wrong with Spurs.

As mpcarres14 pointed out, I was having a dig at the England set up which now and in the past seems to believe that players at the bigger clubs should automatically provide the players for the national team. Downing from Boro is the exception but the Ginger Sven used to manage him.

Does anyone else on here believe that if Crouch was at Charlton and Bent was at Liverpool, that Crouch would still be in the squad and Bent regularly left out ??

well guys. Aaron Lennon wouldn't be there where he is now
if it wasn't for his speed. he is fast as hell. he is also skill full.
but the key to become a great football player is speed.
i mean you can be skill full and dribble and stuff, but when you dribble your
opponent once and your not fast enough your opponent would probs take you up again, and you have to dribble him again.
get my point?

yer. Like Falcao sed, Lennon has one of the most important assets in football. He has speed. If u dont have speed, at the top level, you will get slaughtered.

Zidane was never a speedy guy, I'd say he became a great football player, wouldn't you?

I'd have to say that Bent and Lennon definetely deserve to get some time playing for the national squad. Although Crouch has been productive for England, you can't deny Bent's scoring record over the last couple years in the EPL and Lennon is clearly one of the top wingers that England have.

If ur not a fast runner, then u need superb vision, lightening fast thinking and be a step ahead of the rest.
Your right milanese, Zidane wasnt a very fast runner, but he had all the skills above to make up for it, which made him such a special player.

There are many professional footballers who are not fast and do not have great skill or vision.
Most footballers specialise in a certain area, e.g. defenders-tackling, marking, jockeying and thats how they get to where they are today.
There is no 'set' attributes e.g. speed, vision you must have to be a pro footballer, but obviously you must have qualities to some degree.

dude zidane wasnt slow, but he wasnt fast.
he had the ability to leave his opponents plat footed.
i mean if your gonna dribble the hole field you cant just have skills.
zidane wasnt slow, but he wasnt fast.

Football is just not about attacking. I know this thread is labelled 'Aaron Lennon' but someone pointed out that you can't be a professional footballer if you don't have speed or creativity and I was just saying its not true.
Anyways, go ahead.
