Midfielder VS Striker

Post by DouDou » 31 Jul 2006, 17:31

If you were to choose between beeing a great Midfielder and being a great Striker. what would your choice be?
I would chose to be a great Midfielder, because Midfielders are more polyvalent, they can score, dribble, defend, pass, take free kicks. Besides most of football legends were midfielders: Pele, Maradonna, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho....

I would be happy just to be a pro. however if I had such a luxurious choice I would pick to be a midfielder because simply I play in the midfield and I feel the best there.

I would want to be a striker, as my idol is one too. I just love the feeling you have when you score a great goal.

I like Midfield more as a player, but the reality is, Striker's get more publicity and $$$!

I guess if the money was similar I would want to be a midfielder.

i would be a midefielder because the midefielders are the leaders of the game
the structure of the midefield and how they play decides how the whole team plays

Not so true mate, Midfielders do get equal publicity/money as strikers, As I mentioned before most of football legends were are Midfielders
Cruyef, Platini, Zidane...

Me too for the same reason, and I really think the character has alot to do with your role in the field.

Midfield is such an important position, midfielders control the whole game, they do almost every responsibility and are looked up to. I would choose midfield.

Personally I would choose striker, becasue I am really fast and quick, but I don't have good endurance which you need to be a midlfielder.

scoring goals is great, but if you cant control the mid then you lose.

its really hard to choose but i would want to be a striker coz if im a great midfielder aand i dont have good strikers i will have trouble giving them through passes and all and it will be hard dfor me to score goals for a win being in mid court. if im a great striker i can find a way to score without the help of teammates if they arent good enough.

Pele, Rivaldo, and Ronaldinho are not midfielders. Pele played CF for the Selecao, NY Cosmos, etc. Rivaldo played CF for Barca, Depor, and currently for Olympiakos. Most football legends were strikers, but in todays game they call them CAM which is basically a CF. If you look at all those players you named, none of them can defend worth a damn, and there game is all based off of attacking, attacking and more attacking. In the World Cup for example, Ronaldo and Rivaldo were playing CF and ST with Ronaldinho on the wing.

...by the way it's Maradona with one 'n'.
