Post by owensglory » 15 Apr 2006, 04:36

recently,i read a report stated that roberto carlos is the fastest man in real madrid.he can run in 100m for 9.8 sec.while ronaldo and cicinho, who an only complete the run in 10.2(or 11.2 ,i forgot),are both in second.but how about players in other team?henry?eto'o?owen?martins?anyone knows the record?

9.8secs is dam fast , it seems toog ood to be true.Iwould have thought that Thierry Henry would be faster then Carlos , but if he was he would be beating world records.

I seriously doubt if Roberto Carlos can run 100m in 9.8 seconds. These are the records since 1990.

100m SINCE 1990
9.90: L Burell (US), 14/06/91
9.86: C Lewis (US), 25/08/91
9.85: L Burrell (US), 06/07/94
9.84: D Bailey (Can), 27/07/96
9.79: M Greene (US), 16/06/99
9.78: T Montgomery (US), 14/09/02
9.77: A Powell (Jam), 14/06/05

Maybe Roberto Carlos should have been an athlete instead of a footballer.

Back in the summer Ronaldo was the fastest player in Real Madrid (seen it on RealMAdrid TV) and then comes Owen and Roberto.

Don't have any numbers but just in a plain sprint, no ball, I'd take martins over anyone else.

r carlos would be the last player i would think to be that fast. He is short and chubby (for lack of a better word) so i doubt he would be that fast. I would put my money on Martins or Henry. I would say they did it in around 10.4 or so, but definitely not at world record pace.

Yes i have. Hes fast, but i reckon that most decent players could beat him in a 100m race.

wot u talking about r.carlos isn't fat he's short yeah but he's solid look at his bloody thighs they'r enormous (i'm not sayin that in gay way) i admit he's not as fast now as he used to be but he is 33. In his prime he was like a rocket with amazing acceleration he was about as fast as ronaldo used 2 be.

I read a book, and they said a professional body builder (cant remember his name) run 100m in 10.3 sec...so it doesnt really matter on size, those bodybulders are "chubby" but they are powerful and explosive....also I'd say Henry is fastest with the ball and without I think its Cisse or Martins.

Footballers rarely, if ever, need to sprint 100m.

They are talking on the news about the provisional England squad which is announced later today and it's possible that Theo Walcott will be named. They said that Arsenal did some time trials and Walcott is faster than Henry.

Didn't give times or distances.
