The best winger in world football?

Post by cronaldo7 » 03 Apr 2006, 21:15

Guys im wonderin what ur opinion is. My fave is C Ronaldo has everything-pace,strength,great dribbler, can cross and shoot with both feet and is good in the air-the complete modern winger! I also like his attitude, he wants to be the best! What are your views?

C.Ronaldo is the best young winger, Im also impressed by the now aging Pavel Nedved who has been The Czech leader for years now.

robben is usually very good. his main problem is that he's not capable of changing a game on his own, whereas c. ronaldo is. i agree, ronaldo is probably the single best out there, but robben is close.

yeah ronaldo is really developing as a winger with his speed and creativity. But i have to agree with u about nedved, he is a great leader for the Czechs and he is still going at 33. Isn't nedved a midfielder though?

he plays outside midfield, which is many times called a winger.

cfrealmadrid has it right: A winger is typically seen as a player who plays in a wide position in the midfield. Some play in more advanced roles, but it still largely a midfield position rather than an striking one.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Robben, Nedved, Joaquin... all wingers. My personal favourite would have to by Quaresma, I think (he does play on the wing, right?) as he is just so damn exciting to watch. You gotta love the tricksters in this game.

I read somewher that Quaresma Is C.Ronaldos friend that would make sence 2 porugese youngsters on the same position playing similary.

another problem i have noticed that robben has is that he sometimes struggles to be fit or frequently gets injured unlike the lights of c.ronaldo and co

Not being able to change the game single-handedly was my biggest complain of C.Ronaldo a while back, but he seems to be getting there in a hurry. He's the best winger right now.

Nedved is more of a OMF then a winger though isn't he?

nedved can really play anywhere in the midfield. primarily though, he is a winger, usually on the left side.

Well a couple of years back I would say the Giggs was/is the best I mean if watch some of the old clips of him OMG!! he is so fast and had perfect balance and he could score goals.

But age & old injurys are starting to creep up on him and he doesn't move like he used to
