The best overall FK shooter I think is Juninho. He is so diverse, his shots bend, dip (ball being on the ground), he can score from 19 , 24, 30 yards, and from different angles. Almost all of his goals were from FK.

Beckham has some good crosses, but there is no variety in his shots. the goal he score against Ecuador was good, I think that the goalie misplaced himself, he should have been closer to the near post which was the obvious direction that Beckham was aiming for.

Zidane may not be as good as the above two, but he is by far a better one when taking FKs under pressure last minute. (Euro 2004, fro example)

Roberto Carlos could score from 40 yards, great shooting power, bend, put often poor directionality.

Verdict:

1. Juninho
2. Zidane
3. Beckahm
4. Carlos

i think andrea pirlo is very underrated. i think he could be considered one of the best if not the best free kick taker. he bends the ball equally as good both inside and out.

freekick takers need to be rated by their success rate with free kicks. that is why i wld rule roberto calos out, although he can be spectacular.

beckham doesnt score as many as he used to, for his club or for his country, although hes still one of the best. juninho is very consistant for lyon. rivaldo used to be very good, prbly still is for that matter.

chart
1. juninho
2. beckham (better before 2002)
3. totti (totti comes close or scores more times than not)
4. pirlo ( i agree, he is very underrated)
5. zidane (his talent has faded very slightly toward the end of his career, and now he has retired......
6. lampard (i know, i know, but for chelsea where he is no1 taker, he is quite consistant)
dont take foul play for nothing. tackle the SH*T out of 'im

I gotta say that Nakamura is a great dead ball specialist. That free kick against Man U in the Champions League was great.

beckham got some great passes, but ronaldinho is the free kick taker now days.

in old times i would say didi or garrincha, they both mastered the banana shot

Nakamura score many goals like that. He beaten Vander Sar twice with two great free-kicks in the champions league games. I think he would be up there with Juninho.

He seem very interesting, but I feel he's a goalkeeper. He can score a lot of goals then he would be better off be an outfield player.

I think for sure that Nakamura is VERY underrated. He's a very good freekick taker. But the best is probably Juninho. Ronaldinho is also very good.
