No one I talk to agrees with me on this, and I wanted to make a thread to see what you guys all think.
I think United should sell Welbeck. As a goal scoring or goal creating option I don't see his effectiveness. He doesn't score enough, he doesn't assist enough. His touch in and around the box always seems to let him down, his finishing percentage is really low, he's always trying flicks that no one anticipates, he overcomplicates things.
I'm not saying he's a bad player, he definitely has some good qualities; fast, good touch, keeps possesion well in his own half or around the half way line, good at connecting with his wingers/midfielders, but so is Hernandez, and he can also score goals.
Everyone disagrees with me though. Every colour commentator sings his praises each game, pundits talk about his potential, fans repeat the same, etc. Again, I don't think he's a bad player by any means, I just think he's over rated and would sell for a big sum. Maybe even 15 million plus. And United wouldn't be losing goals or assists. What do you guys think?
