I'd give the edge to Rooney, even as a Chelsea fan. Both have a somewhat equal presence, but Rooney has more goals, and tends to make his teammates just that little bit better than Drogba. Granted, Drogba is more used to playing up front alone, but Rooney has handled the role very well this year, as SAF has called on him to do so.

So far, Rooney.. More goals, more motivator, more hustler etc... More valuable to the team, does more than just putting the ball in the net..
Also, we haven't seen all of him, he still is young and if he improves a little each year in four years when he's 28, he'll be a beast..

Drogba is a fine ass striker anyway though.. and the previous seasons he was better than rooney clearly, rooney is just inspired, he was challenged and put to carry the team now that Ronaldo left, and he has done his job more than properly..

Yeah probably Rooney. His finishing can be dreadful at times but for everything else its class. Torres would take both but

I'd pick Rooney as of now, but that being said if I had 5 min left against a top 4 team from any league and needed a goal I'd want Drogba. Doesn't change that Rooney has been great this year and is a lot younger.

Racistsssssss!!!!! I joke.

Yeah, Rooney this season is on fire really..

I had officialy labeled him in my mind, the guy that starts well the championship, and then just sinks and doesn't do anything throughout the season... Think about all the other season he got 15 goals by the end.. He would get the first 10 super quick, and then just hit a comfort zone and stay there..

They finally pushed him out of his comodity area, Man U needed some one to step up, and ronaldo gone, he had to do something, he responded positively...

Maybe Ronaldo and Tevez scoring goals on Man U, gave him calmness to blend in the game, and loose himself.. Like some games it was the 70th minute and he had touched like 3 balls..

Weird how Drogba has played in the EPL for over 5 years and still hasn't scored a goal against United in his 100+ goal collection :?

I'd like to point out that IMO why Rooney never scored as many goals as he should have is because he was constantly having to go between mid and striker while cr7 f-ed around. Now that the mid field plays in the mid field he can do less there and more up front.

Drogba on his day is unstoppable, Rooney isnt. Also Drogba is more entertaining and has a more unique style..Basically he's like a footy Shaq, pure brute strength..

in some weird round about way you really didn't and this season rooney has scored far more goals and done more for the team overall than drogba. rooney on his day has 4 goals in 1 game drogba even in top form won't match that.

but Defoe on top form had 5 goals, so guess he's better than them both..

Rooney is jz a jack of all trades really..not as clinical as van nisterooy, not as fast as torres, not as predatory as eto, not as strong as drogba, not as creative as ibrahimovic, not as hardworking as tevez...jz decent in all departments..
