I guess I should confess to being one of his superfans, but to me he is a brilliant player still, a fantastic professional. His crossing is still awesome, his freekicks are still amazing and what's more, he's still hungry to improve and do whatever he can to get to WC 2010.

I think those who criticise him see him purely as someone who is more focussed on the off-field stuff, and while that obviously plays a large part in his life he ALWAYS puts his football first.

One thing about him and his professionalism, his love for the game that really stood out for me personally was when he played for the Galaxy in New Zealand against the Wellington Phoenix. I travelled down to watch the game (10 hour bus ride) and I distinctly remember him appearing to be a bit sick- he kept clutching his chest as if he was having trouble breathing. Afterwards I heard that he had bronchitis, but the thing that I really remember and admire him for is that he stayed on and played despite (apparently) being contracted to play only for 50 minutes or something like that. But to me that really showed that he's a true professional, one that all young players should look up to.

Valencia and fletcher of man utd are very under-rated IMO.Valencia has so many assists with his crosses and he can easily get past a player with his speed.
Fletcher is almost a complete player. He can tackle very well, his vision has improved a lot,he scores goals and he can play as right back and as any midfielder.

rooney is tipped as one of the top strikers in the world and he's under rated? you really need to think that one through.

theres no right or wrong in opinions, like ofr example i could think a player is crap who you worship, everyone has different opinions there is no right or wrong with a personal opinion.

but if you think about it how could someone who can be tipped to be the top striker in the world be under rated. should we consider him the best in the universe. send scouts to mars.

I understand where your coming from buts its his own opinion and he might have a good reason for that opinion, so lets just leave it as that, theres no need to start a silly argument over this.

I think Rooney is overrated. The way he is praised I think he should have like 40 goals by now.

in my opinion rooney is just proper rated... A few years back he was overrated imo, like his debut with Man U vs Fenerbache he scored a hattrick, and I went on kitbag.com and bought his shirt... But every tournament he played was like this.. He would start in great form, and then finish the league with 10-14 goals... which is sh*t for where people put him..

But not until ronaldo left, this year, that he has been doing awful work, and is 5 goals ahead the next man that has more goals on the premier..

Before, he was like help for Man U to score goals, now he is like their man scorer... So now, he is living up to that rating that he has....

Before: over rated (started strong, and then died off)
Now: proper rated (piliing goals and goals consistently)
