how many times does rooney really dive though? I think it is unfair to call him a diver, maybe he has once or twice but i do have a question, what if some of these dives are just players losing their footing and falling? I mean i dont like ronaldo because he is arrogant and just not what i think a footballer should be, but stevie g and wayne rooney are some of the closest examples of honest footballers.

Its an attribute to the game now...
for two reasons:
-wins freekicks
-avoids contact and potentially getting hurt

everyone does it dudes, you name him Ive probably seen him dive
rooney, totti, lampard, shaun WP, walcott, adebayour, evra, gerrard, drogba, ronaldo, robinho, messi (but barely ever), kaka

like seriously it happen's loads, just ronaldo sometimes reaches unbeleivable heights of arrogance when he just falls to his knees when he can't reach the ball... he ain't the only one, just the most famous one :D

There are nearly no honest footballers anymore, honest

-Rooney, once produced a shirt saying 'omce a blue, always a blue' then left to manchester united, and this year kissed his badge in goodison... also dives and hacks at players legs when taking drop balls

-Henry, kisses the turf at highbury (the club that basically made him), speculates a move to barca a week later (cause he isn't doing well enough in the champions leauge), then deny's it (after playing the champions leauge final), then plays bad for a season due to injury, then speculates a move to barca, then goes, then bitches bout how bad hes doing, then speculates a move back, then stays... etc

-Ronaldo, dives, cries and boast's how fantastic of a footballer he is, then declares he is too good to be held back from his dream, a move to madrid, he gets held back, then spends a season in basically resent, just there today he got booed off at villa park, and in response he put up 1 finger and pointed at himself (as if to say 'i'm number 1)... it can go on and on

-Carragher, claims playing for england means nothing compared to playing for liverpool

-Steven Ireland, Is 22, potentially the best Irish player for the future... finds the national team to stressful to play for 'cause they keep losing'

Gerrard is one of the few half honest footballers left... and he's far from perfect

Rooney did that for fun and stop blaming him for the switch to Manchester, and Carragher really is extremely close to 100% honest. He plays inspired defense. I also don't understand how it's not honest of him to say that England doesn't mean as much as Liverpool. That's not dishonest that is just his opinion.

So what if Henry bitches? and so what if he kissed the ground one day then wants to go to barca. What the hell do you want these players to do?
Stay at the same team thier whole career? Or not show any signs of liking thier club if they have any thoughts of leaving? Honestly too much criticism, they are human beings.

fu**ing hell, honest? bulls**t.

People say he is the perfect footballer because he loves his club, loves playing for his country, doesn't dive, etc.

That's bulls**t, before the Champions League Final 2005-6 he was my favourite player, but after that he just isn't the same, he blasts players for diving and says bulls**t like;

"If I saw a teammate do that [diving], I'd have a word"

then completely double-crosses himself by doing all of this;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5nB_Jk9svw

After he publicly slated divers and then dove in the Champions League Final 05-06, I could never see him as my favourite player.

I also hate that he gets all this credit when playing with England when Becks is arguably more effective than he is.
