not me

im not sure when exactly maradona retired (sum tym in the late 1980's wasnt it?) but there hav been loads of great players since him. romario was gd, but not 'world-class' like the many others who hav followed maradona.

for example, ronaldo, davids, zidane, batistuta, nedved, keane, giggs, scholes, beckham, figo, henry, van nistelrooy, zola, vieri, pippo inzaghi, raul, robberto baggio, mendieta....to name but a few.

Not "world-class" ?

1994, Romario

This fantastic pocket-sized Brazilian striker was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 1994 after a string of superb performances at the 1994 FIFA World Cup USA™, where he was named player of the tournament. Romario also had probably his best season in club football at Barcelona (where he finished leading scorer in the Spanish Liga with 30 goals to his name).

1993 1st Roberto Baggio Italy Juventus
2nd Romario Brazil Barcelona

1994 1st Romario Brazil Flamengo
2nd Hristo Stoitchkov Bulgaria Barcelona
