I have a sneaking suspicion that Andrei Arshavin will be an Arsenal player within the next couple of weeks. As far as I know he has committed to going and a contract is drawn up, but there is a snag with the purchase price, which Wenger is working on.
I've also heard that Brede Hangeland and Blaise Matuidi are coming to Arsenal too.
i can actually see that,arshavin at arsenal,i think he has a similar playing style to the arsenal attack so he will fit in good

1. God forbid he actually spends a large sum of money on a player

Also S11, your right about the owners, but Hughs released a statement saying that he's 100% in charge of all transfers, and that he's not looking for big names, just people to strengthen the squad. What it comes down to is, is Hughs calling the shots, or someone with no real knowledge of football. We'll see at the end of the window

-Arsene has spent before. Never a ton, but enough. There is no need to overspend when quality players are available for 10-15 million. And that's probably all he would cost, seing as he is cup-tied and the hype around him has died down.
-Arsene has also bought older players in his tenure. For instance, Pires was 27 when he was bought, the exact age of Arshavin.

Dont know about other spanish teams but Madrid are in need of an experienced winger to fill in for Robinho, which is why Pennant is one of the players being targeted.
Plus Juande seems to be interested in players from the English league (young, pennant....lassana diarra). Also, his style of football looks very rigid and direct like the english as well.
Is Pennant not very talented?
On a different note, Manchester city are bidding 26 million euro for Barca midfielder Yaya Toure. There is no way Barcelona is letting go of such a talented player so manchester titty can go suck a donkey dong
To me, Pennant is an average player. He can get the job done, or he can't. I think that it would be good for him to go to Madrid, as he will be getting more playing time and that can maybe transform him into a better player.
On a different note everyone's pretty good with women when it comes to hookers... well except the sham-wow guy.
Zenit's coach talking about Arshavin most likely leaving and possibly to arsenal. What I found more interesting was how he said he purposely bought Danny as a replacement for Arshavin because he thought he'd leave in a couple seasons. Which makes sense because from what I've seen Danny's a better player then Arshavin, I haven't seen much of Zenit, but IMO Danny's better.
