Heinze is a better player than del horno since he was improving lately and has more ball contral and confidence
Nedved (back then) Gerrard (now)
Posted: 13 Mar 2006, 21:11
as good as gerrard is, i have to say nedved. european player of the year doesn't go to just anyone these days, you have to be GREAT. he was amazing, and still can be. so i pick nedved, although it's close.
djibril cisse vs. robinho
Posted: 14 Mar 2006, 04:11
Robinho due to the fact that none of the Liverpool strikers can score a goal, including Cisse.
Messi vs. Tevez
Posted: 14 Mar 2006, 17:07
Tevez. I think he is more effective. Messi tends ti dribble lots and end up running out of room, a bit like Rooney at times. Tevez is a very classy goalscorer. Both have bright futures ahead of them.
Martins versus Robinho
Posted: 15 Mar 2006, 18:57
robinho. there's really no reason martins shouldn't be just as good, but he's not making the best of his situation right now. robinho, despite being on a *questionable* team, is scoring incredible goals and making very nice plays.
messi vs. rooney (judging only by their last 5 games)
Posted: 16 Mar 2006, 10:35
messi has been better than rooney only in the last 5 games since messi is a better dribbler and he can still improve more than rooney can. rooney sometimes passes in a bad while, but then he improves more than he was before
two back midfields viera and makelele VS. two back midfields Gerrard and Lampard
Posted: 16 Mar 2006, 17:44
I think if you are comparing the French mdifeld to the English, then the French would usually come out on top. Gerrard and Lampard are never as influential for England as they are for their clubs. The current formation restricts them both as well. The next England manager needs to be more adventurous if he is to get the best out of them.
Gilardino versus Reyes
Posted: 16 Mar 2006, 23:28
gilardino. reyes is starting to fade away at arsenal, as far as i know. i haven't actually seen him play in ages. gilardino is doing well for himself at milan, and he's getting more time, so i pick him.
crespo vs. drogba (as in, who should start for chelsea?)
Posted: 17 Mar 2006, 20:30
Drgoba. He is stronger, quicker, nore skillful and better in the air. Crespo is a far better finisher but Drogba suits Chelsea better.
Cassano versus Gilardino
Posted: 17 Mar 2006, 22:41
i have to say cassano. gilardino is good, but cassano has (so far) made a bigger impact internationally, which is the main thing that separates them.
bridge vs del horno
Posted: 25 Mar 2006, 02:00
Roberto Carlos vs. Beckham (better freekick taker)
Posted: 25 Mar 2006, 18:39
Roberto Carlos has amazing free-kicks once and a while but Beckhams are more usefull and more consistant so I would have to go for Beckham
Adriano or Rooney
Posted: 26 Mar 2006, 19:27
nice one. i'd have to pick rooney. just by the way he's playing right now. adriano is more inconsistent, whereas rooney can play well in almost every game. that's really the only thing that separates them.
ibrahimovic vs. drogba
Posted: 27 Mar 2006, 02:00
I like this one. Im going with Drogba. Both are forwards so they should be fast, but i think Drogba is the faster of the two. I also think that his skill level is above Ibrahimovic's.
Now i leave you with an old-timed battle.
Pele vs Maradona
Maybe a good matchup maybe not.
Posted: 27 Mar 2006, 18:00
Pele just. Maradona was a great player but he only won 1 world cup compared to pele's 3. He scored over 1,200 goals in his career as well. People say that he never played in europe where defences are a lot more solid but there wasn't as much of a difference as there is now. Also I think pele was much more of a team player and his passing and long range shooting were amazing.
Best vs Cruyff
