Just wanted to make a thread for observations and things we learned from the group stages that we might not have known going in.

For example: Africa wasn't nearly as good as advertised. 5 teams in the world cup and in danger of all 5 missing out on the round of 16.

Except ghanna who are first in their group right now

Observation:
- Ozeil is a beast, I had no idea he existed. What an animal, tremendous player.

There's still a very good chance they won't go through though. If Serbia win and Ghana loses, Ghana's out on goal differential. Point is, Africa hasn't performed on it's home continent, and it's a shame. I was hoping Cameroon would go on, along with the Ivory Coast at least

edit: My bad, all Serbia would have to do is tie and if Ghana loses by more than a goal, they're out.

Rooney has a good look a like!

(hopefully fab can get hold of the man himself for tomorrow)

We all massively underestimated Maradona, big time!

There are still loads of divers.

France is garbage, and we have all seen their problems now.

US still hasn't realize altidore sucks, along with findley.

Ghana is a dark horse. Also Argentina are a team to watch for. Terrible qualifying, and maradona was a wreck. He turned it around, and now is taking argentina through with ease.

Spain is still the best team, soccer wise. (style of play is absolutely dominating).

Rooney, ribery, and kaka are all playing extremely poor. Absolutely horrific performances so far.

Messi still struggles to score for argentina lol.

south korea?

Domenech is an idiot, and does not know who to take on the roster, and is completely clueless on formation, and what players to play.

I still hate mexico and the way they play.

Uraguay is a dark horse as well.

England is extremely overrated, and have been playing soccer like a park district team

Last but not least, NEW ZEALAND!!!! lol crazy how they keep surprising us

Oh and like soccerjj said, LOTS OF DIVING. it makes me cringe when i see some of these.

umm...

Mexico sucks and shouldn't go through, they're a dirty playing team which isn't a surprise with Blanco as their mentor.

There are players who are better then cr7 at diving and acting, even with how much more he practices.

S. Africa should have gone through, bad luck.

It's impossible to predict soccer games, ever, in this WC.

Americans hate plastic horns, along with everyone with a tv

Unrelated note possibly due to increased site activity from the WC, BSC is strongly disliked by chatroom users, or not.

Some Australian schoolchildren realised that this website isn't blocked on their school's filter, and are using it as a way to group chat as opposed to MSN, which is blocked. lol I have no idea how they found out about this place. as Evra would say "We have a traitor in our midst!"

To be fair, Messi in the conmebol qualification rounds or whatever they are called in english, didn't make plays, or play like he is doing now. He was quite lost all match. He just ran, and lost a lot of balls, played far from his best, and couldn't find himself on the pitch. Now he's doing everything we'll he's just having a hard time finishing, thats all. He's doing the hard part though . Would you agree?
