2brown347 sig portfolio

Post by 2brown347 » 08 Jan 2008, 05:09

Last night I decided to download GIMP and try to make some sigs, so as of now I've made five ( which are posted in order). I know they aren't very good so if your just gonna talk crap don't bother posting, but I wanna know if you think they are ok for a beginner, and any advice, or links with good advice. I don't use tutorials, I've basiclly just been experimenting but if you know any helpful ones feel free to post them.

For a starter I think that's pretty good man. Keep at it. I've never done any before but maybe try making them in the standard form which I can't exactly remember at this very moment, but check some good sigs size and you'll find out.

P.S. Nice Campbell's.

Thanks rzadzinski I'll try to find the standard form, they are pretty big.

Just made this one in about 5 minutes. I'll probly edit the background a bit and find a different picture but I'm pretty happy with the background.

Thanks Keller8. I made this one just now using one of the tutorials, but it was a more advanced one so I had no clue what I was doing most of the time.

Pretty good for starting off, better than I was lol. I would say try to keep your sigs around 500 x 200 px or smaller, I use 500x200 just because the size just works for me. Otherwise good job, try working around and incorporating various techniques into your sigs, like brushing. Best of Luck!

Also, try and get Photoshop because it has alot more options. I recommend a website called katz (Watch out for the side advertisements though :?. I got Photoshop CS3 (A portable edition) from there and so far it works out wonderful.

Btw, if you want Photoshop websites to kinda start you off go to.

Good-Tutorials

I'm sure this has beginner tutorials.

And for brushes, C4D renders, etc. for either GIMP or Photoshop go to

Got the brushes to work and made these, they're a little better but still not were I want them. They should get better once I'm done downloading photoshop.
