Shouldn't you start calling the clubs for trials? Also, are there academy's for professional teams there?

Don't call clubs and ask for a trial it doesn't work that way.

Send out your CV to all the clubs you can think of. If you have tapes of your games you've played in send it as well.

I know in the MLS some of the teams have open tryouts every now and then where they might pick up a player or two if they impress. Do they have open tryouts in Australia? If they do, look into that.

All systems are the same, all clubs, no matter the level, will want to see your CV and prefer game tape especially if you are far away. Other than trying to find open tryouts sending out your CV is the way to go. Your still young so you have time to build up your CV.

If you have the money you can try and get an agent. They'll have contacts in the game and can usually put a positive spin on an unimpressive CV if they are really good and at least get a player a look somewhere.
