Round II

Post by expert » 23 Nov 2005, 00:17

This is the round of creativity. We will rank the remaining videos based on how original they are. Forget about skill, style or what you prefer to see.
Please fully describe why you ranked each video the way you did. Compare the originality of each clip, the arrangement of moves, editing and the overall concept of the video. Round II will end on November 23.

1. Roonablo - Has a very unique approach. Although he may not be that technically advanced, his tricks were unusual and experimental.
2. Super Syed - Some of his combos had a touch of imagination, but a lot of it was straightforward lowerbody.
3. Kemal - He managed to show creativity through stringing up very complex combos. You can tell because they didn't feel stale even although he was working within a very confined range.
4. Evan Jellyman - His lowerbody was more interesting then Murilo's and Owen4Ever's. The way he composed his combos made me wonder "what would he do next?"
5. Owen4Ever - Nothing in particular really stood out. Also, the way in which the clip was edited could have been better. There was no climax, it felt like a random collection of tricks.
6. Murilo Dalvi Pitol - What he showed is standard in most freestyle videos. He executed his moves very well, but this is the round of creativity.
7. Kris Lomholt - Very little originality here, in fact, he showed way more than necessary. There's no need to do the same trick more than once, especially if it's not that difficult.

1. Roonablo - He was the most creative of all competitors. Hes not afraid to be different by coming up with new ideas, and has the most unique style as he doesnt seem to just copy some combos he's seen from other freestylers.
2. Evan Jellyman - Quite unpredictable. He kept me anticipating something new, as he mixed it up tricks wise.
3. Supersyed - A bit imaginative with his moves, some new combos. Just edges out Kamal due to a little more spark
4. Kamal - Pulled of some hard combos , but its been seen before. Not as creative as supersyed, but harder tricks........but this is for creativeness
5. Owen4Ever - Its hard to seperate Owen from Kamal and supersyed, but he ranks below them due to his little variation from his previous videos. Iv seen him do most of the tricks before, so i wouldnt call him creative, or as creative as the others.
6. Murilo - i agree with expert, he wasnt creative in trick variation as he sticked with mostly lower combo's. His tricks were advanced, but not much innovation here.
7. Lomholt - Repetition was his downfall, not creative
