Not surprising. Each player was apparently publicly ridiculed in turn too (aside from the two of Japanese descent), and then were forced to critique their coach. They've started accusing him of betraying the Glorious Leader as well, so the clock is ticking already. Simply disgusting.
Somehow, I doubt even if they had, say, beaten Brazil, would they be hailed as heroes. It would be all the Glorious Leader's doing that they were led to greatness.

Wish they'd done the same with those retards who turned out for England.

Holy crap, that's insane. Why were they even allowed to compete in the WC? I vaguely remember Greece were banned from international comps a few years back because their government got too involved in the football, surely this is a situation of similar severity???
Don't wish things were easier...

Focus on the journey, and the result will take care of itself
But that's Greece, and this is North Korea. Nobody tells them what to do in their own affairs, and I think, if they were to be banned from international football, it might be even worse on those involved.
North Korea are communist, brutal, they are extreme, and have the weirdest mentalities. They kill people if they make mistakes that turn out to be expensive. In greece they would never kill a coach, or humiliate the team infront of the whole nation. They might take it seriously and get picky with the National Team, but in North Korea they are inhumane. They tell you what you have to work on and if understand properly they have cameras in each home. Government controls most every aspect of life over there.
