a little off topic but does anyone else think the MLS needs to ditch the salary cap, at first I liked it, but now it seems like it's lowering the leagues ability to grow

i don't think they necessarily need to ditch it as much as they should higher it. as far as i know, it's still $2 Million right? how are you going to get a team with that. also, it's unfair to the players to make $25,000 a year as some do. i think the best thing would be to move it up to...say $6 million. if there wasn't a salary cap, the teams with the richest owners would just buy their teams and that's not right either.

I agree. Theres some players who make less than 25,000, its rediculous. I read an article in a 90 minute soccer magazine where 59 of the leagues players make the minimum $12,900, thats basically being paid a little more than $5.85 (federal minimum wage).

Isn't the league minimum for Major League Baseball like 300,000? I heard that somewhere. Anyway I think they need to at least raise the league minimum to $25,000-$40,000 (considering you can make $20,000ish working at a gas station in a year in some places, I think that's reasonable)

it would also bring in more athletes. if there was someone who was really good at soccer and baseball for example, they might pick to pursue soccer if they know they'd actually be getting some money.

It was pretty obvious this was going to happen. It was just a question of when. The LA Galaxy is a whirlwind of confusion and turmoil and they're in real danger of not making the playoffs again.

According to Espn Prime time thursday game, Bruce Arena is having dinner at the game tonight, he's tipped to be the coach. It's only breaking news though now, nothing is final. Bruce Arena LOL

If they get bruce arena it'd just be a showboat like guillet. God I hate the galaxy...

World exclusive: Bruce Arena to be named LA Galaxy head coach

The LA Galaxy will announce this evening that former US Men's National Team coach Bruce Arena will take over the head coaching job for the troubled club.

What a joke. Galaxy should just remove themselves from MLS and go play in a rec league.
