African Footballer of the Year

Post by mpcarres14 » 02 Feb 2008, 12:28

Congratulations to Freddie Kanoute who quite deservedly won the African Footballer of the Year yesterday. A very good choice, as he has been consistantly good all year for Sevilla, scoring in all different types of matches. This was a much better choice than Drogba (who was injured through most of this year) or Essien would have been. In fact, I must commend the African FA (or whoever runs things over there) on the fact that unlike UEFA, FIFA, US Soccer, and other organizing groups, they have kept their awards in the past years unbiased and fair.

Yea well done to Fredi, he has done well, but i would disagree i would give it to Drogba personally. Kanoute has made history by becoming the first european born footballer to win it, which might spark controversy!

Drogba has been injured for most of this year. His production in 2007 pales to that of 2006.
