How do I improve my free kicks

Post by breakinankles » 23 Apr 2005, 19:59

I want to know what the proper way to strike the ball where it curves, has power, and dips(Roberto Carlos, Henry, Davids etc). Free kicks is an area I would really like to improve in, and any help would be appreciated.

I would try and watch as much video as possible of players like Beckham taking free kicks. Study how they approach the ball and their fallow through and everything. Use your instinct and also try and visualize yourself doing it properly after you have watched video of good technique. Repetition and practice day in and day out will get you much better.

watch sinisa mihajlovic, he is the best free-kick taker in italy!!!
you need to be angled 20 degrees from the ball. just take 3-4 steps and scratch the ball with your instep. it is as simple as that.

I have no problems with curves, but my problem is how to dip the ball. My inside curves are OK but I'm better with outside curves. Mihajlovic is probably the best free kick taker of all time.
The rules of soccer are very simple, basically it is this: if it moves, kick it. If it doesn’t move, kick it until it does.

ok, maradona have you ever played snooker or pool? it is like there, scratch the ball a little lower and it will be airborne! but it is better to practice free kicks shooting like adriano........
