Stamina Routine

Post by desire10 » 13 Jun 2011, 06:28

My stamina is average, so I'm trying to improve in order to compliment my work-rate.

Here's what I've got so far -

Warm-up, dynamic stretching
Wind sprint drill (20m at 60%, 20m at 100% - over 100m) - 3 reps, 3 sets (30 secs rest between reps, 2 min between sets)
3 laps of field at 60%
Sprint drill (50m at 60%, 50m at 100%) - 5 reps (1 min rest)
Cool-down, static stretching

Thinking of adding in some jump rope as well.

I'm doing this once a week.

I also have team training which gives a decent cardio work-out as well.

Also on I side note, I did this routine yesterday, and I was feeling lethargic while training today. Does physical fatigue include feeling 'lazy', or is it just limited to muscle soreness? - If you get me.

I don't have a rower or an 'X trainer', only a spin bike.

I have access to those machines p793, is that workout good to improve stamina for soccer? Have you done it? If so how often per week should it be done? Thanks

no he just posted it for shits and giggles and it's horrible for soccer... /sarcasm

on a real note most stamina things won't be done more than 2x a week.

Just finished it....SO PAINFUL
I feel fu**ing awesome now though. :D

I think its a super good cardio routine for us footballers
burn any fat, greatly imrpove stamina/fitness, it aint running but your doing a lot of work, which wont put pressure on joints, like a standardold fashioned "jog" would do, cos if your playing footy aswell as trying to get good fitness, your joints would be destroyed.
