Indie games

I have a question for the EF populace, or at least those of you who play pc/video games. What are your favorite indie games? Indie means non-mainstream so don't say FIFA or Halo.

Some good ones that I've played are:
Pharaoh - City building at its best. Based on Caesar 2. Has a cult following
Vib Ribbon - Japanese PS1 music game. Graphically, it's unlike anything out there
Bus driver - Unlike any other racing game out there. You get points for following the traffic rules and smooth breaking
Road Fighter - Unlicensed NES racer. Played it back when I was little. It's pretty fun and fast paced
LocoRoco - I have this one for the PSP. The game gets boring rather quickly but it has some of the most amazing programming I've ever seen. Incredible collision detection of deformable bodies. It's very hard hard to pull that off in real time

That's all I can think of for now...

I've actually played Pharaoh, and it was a pretty good, one of the best of its kind, second only to Age of Empires in my opinion. After taking a looking through my short list of games, I found something that I enjoyed playing and few other people have: Downtown Run. It's a racing game where you have to earn points to unlock cars, tracks, and championships. In my opinion, the only thing that takes away from it is the powerups which are available on every race except time trials. They can really mess you up by blowing your tires, or they can make your car go much faster and handle much better - I think that should be optional at least.

Nevertheless, your alter ego does! :)

I don't think they are in the same genre. Pharaoh is all city building and economy, whereas AOE is battles with a little bit of resource management. The thing I hate about AOE is when you get attacked from like 10 sides... there's no diplomacy and you have little control in the battles

Downtown run, eh? I'll check out their demo.

I play America's Army, free First Person Shooter sponsored by the Army...

It's a great game if you have a decent graphics card, which I don't :P
