Finished AS Exams- Woot!

Post by Viduka » 06 Jun 2007, 14:30

Anyone here who lives in England, what subjects did you take, and how were the exams???

Exam Board: AQA

Biology - Err I think i did alright on it. It doesnt help that I couldnt get any sleep before the day though.. and I think I screwed up Section B on the Physiology and Transport

Chemistry - OMG First paper was great! - Inorganic
Second errrrr.. well not so great  - Organic

Geography- I totally screwed up on human and glaciation papers.. the annoying thing is... is that I spent so much time revising Geography.

Exam Board: Edexcel

Maths- first paper C2 was alright, second stats paper S1 was kinda gay... see that instrument question???? Nothing to do with maths.

I'm just happy that my injury is keeping me away from all of my finals. Finals really isn't that hard over here in the US. Not nearly as much as the Exams over there I mean, because it is not mandated by the country. So yea, I'm just pretty much sitting home, missing finals, and getting A's on them since my teachers feel sorry for me. Hehe... there are some ups to everything.

True enough... not in normal classes, but AP might be a bit more difficult

in my opinion its harder than AS, especially Chemistry, i did a chemistry retake yesterday but it didnt go well :( Fortunately i dont wanna do chem at uni :)

I wouldnt worry about it, as you get older and you get into the course youll adapt to it, the only thing theres a lot more pressure on you to get the grades, as its your last chance to get into uni.

SAT Reasoning

Critical Reading: 730 97th percentile

Mathematics: 690 92nd percentile

Writing: 590 79th percentile, My essay was poo.

Did my subject tests too, but I haven't got the results back, and I don't think they'll be too good... Still, I could get into Oxford with these scores, it'd be difficult though.

Congrats Hugh, that's a very good score. I got 1970 overall. I'm taking it again in October, hoping to get to about where you are now. What subject tests did you take?

I took Physics Chemistry and Math

If you're in grade 11, I think you are, then don't take Physics, it's friggin brutal. Chem isn't that bad and you need Math, take Lit, it's just like the reading section on the SAT, but do the practice questions first.

Thanks for the info. I'm probably going to do Math, possibly Lit as well.

Just wondering, what sort of stuff did you do to prepare for the reasoning test? I have some review books I went through on my own, but that's all I did.

Oh and yes, I'm in grade 11. Well actually 12 as of monday :)
