I've decided that generally, there's too many World Class central midfielders for me to do this properly

And not enough out and out World Class wingers. I guess a lot of the time, players with an amazing ability on the ball are moved more centrally, so they have more influence on the game. If i were to really do this, I'd actually try to think about chemistry and the team actually being able to have width. And to defend as a unit. That being said, i'm going with a 4-4-2. (4-4-1-1 if you want to get overly technical)

This is a team i think someone will have trouble breaking down, as well as defending?

--------------------Casillas---------------------

Lahm ------- Chiellini --- Vermaelen ---- Cole

Di Maria --- Fabregas --- Essien ---- Bastos

----------------- Messi --------------------------

------------------------ C Ronaldo --------------

Bold decision going for 3 at the back but with Messi and Ronaldo in perhaps the most important positions in that formation it would be vulnerbale.

Defo. I think Lahm could do the job at RB with Ca$hley at LB Alonso will have to do with a spot on the bench :D

I cant think of any outside midfielders that can also defend and play well in a 4-4-2. I mostly watch the premier league. and the likes of Giggs, Walcott, Malouda, Bale, Nani, Nasri, Kuyt all seem second best to those two at the moment. I'm open to suggestions.

I think Di Maria is a good choice for a winger. He always influences the attack down the wing and he runs around relentlessly to help his team. Infact, mourinho has used him as a left back on a couple of occasions......when madrid was winning though.

---------------Casillas
--Lahm(c)---Vidic----Chiellini----Evra
----Schweinsteiger--Cambiasso
Robben---Messi---C.Ronaldo
----------Berbatov

Subs: Rooney, Müller, Fabregas, Ribery

Berbatov fits in best with that attack IMO. The 3 attacking mids can all interchange. Schweinsteiger plays at his best when he has a defensive minded player next to him so he can play as a deep lying playmaker like he did with Germany over the summer.
