Snowboarding

Post by avipbn » 23 Feb 2010, 03:30

I've recently picked up snowboarding and
ITS FREAKING INSANE!!!!

Takes some dedication no doubt, you cant have the mentality of "Oh no I cant balance or get it, screw this!"

For my first day I got off box's and jumps which I'm pretty proud of, defiantly going to upload my board and bindings when I have the time.

Defiantly something to pick up at least once before you die.

Whadu yall think?

Snowboarding is indeed awesome! I went last winter to Mammoth Mountain in California and Mount Rose. That was my first time snowboard, but it was fun once I got the hang of it. However, I never got the hang of the lifts, as I am afraid of heights
I'd love to continue to snowboard, but it can get expensive.

avipbn, what made you start snowboarding?

Since I moved form Mississauga, Ontario to Burlington, the "daily" activities in my life have changed. This areas more "Canadian centric" towards what people like to do. Pond Hockey, Snowboarding, Skateboarding, ect. So naturally I tried these and hell, I'm loving it!

But man your right its so pricey. If you don't have your own equipment it can run you $90 a visit. I'm lucky to have a friends board.

It snowed 10cm today so hopefully it'll be a snowday and we can hit the slopes 8)

Prefer skiing because you go much faster and you can turn much more sharply.

I think it's great fun. I tear up Marble Mountain and White Hills that are in my province whenever I get a chance. It's fantastic fun.

Snowboarding is awesome, Wakeboarding is incredibly good for your balance though. I did that for a while. It actually helps your balance whilst doing other things like football etc.
I used to skateboard seriously when I stopped football competitively when I was about 12 due to issues I would prefer not to discuss, but it has helped me alot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2pzD54xpSY
this is me age 14 and I was offered to become a sponsored skater (equivelant to academy) but turned it down because my real passion lies with football tbh

Skiing ftw, love my double blacks and steep bowls.

Also if you haven't skied or rode whistler then you haven't skied at all.

Reading this makes me wish the snow was back so I could go snowboarding. I've never done much of it, but it's definitely been fun the times I have.

Nice video p793. I know if I personally tried any of that I'd most likely end up just bashing my face off the ground.
