does anyone here play gaelic football, hurling or any other gaelic games? just wondering me and my friends play both every weekend there fun give em a shot

And to dhs, I've never played it before but it seems interesting and I'd like to try it some day, it also seems quite confusing, but fun nonetheless.

never heard of it till just now..took a look on youtube and i noticed u can handle the ball..can someone send me a link to a site with the rules and u pronounce it gaylic right?

(don't deny it you sniggered :wink: )

but there rules is basically you can hold the ball
you can punch the ball to pass or score as well as kick

and the pitch is almost twice the size of a football pitch

its alot more physical, then football (nearly as physical as rugby)
quite skillful aswell, its one of those 'survival of the fittest sports'
you have to be strong and fast

also its an amatur game

the sport it closest resembles is aussie rules...
if you take out the marks (where you call 'mark!' when you catch)
and make the pitch sqaure
its practically the same game

a few irish lads have gone and signed pro in australia after impressing in ireland

yeah gaelic football is a really fun game but its got some kinda complicated rules wikipedia explins it pretty well u can also look up hurling its the most intense sport ever
