Heh, yeah well whilst I agree with the whole "you never have to run a hundred metres" thing it can be really nice to have something that makes you almost untouchable. Some have technique and some have power, I have neither of those but I have yet to be outrunned. It's the only thing in my whole life that I haver never been beaten in... Btw I think that I ran 100 meters in like 10.4 or in that neighbourhood.
As long as you can accelerate quick you'll be just fine, but for counter-attacks from lets say a corner, you'll really want to be quick in that long distance sprint too...

With a time like that, you can represent any country at the Olympics because professional runners get in and around a time like that.

No not really... I checked too, my time was 10.54 so not quite so fast...
Besides there is a big difference between 10.5 and 10.4 and a huge difference between 10.5 and 10.3. I actually did try out for a sprinting club in my home town and I got in, it was fun but I enjoy football alot more since it's alot of teamwork and tactics... So sorry for the 10.4 exaggeration.

For a young lad like yourself 10.54 is a world class time.
With proper, vigorous training, it is a reality to compete in the Olympics.
A boy in my secondary school got 11 something and represented South-east England in an athletics national competition.

Apparently, the best time in London for a grade 10 student is 10.84.

Oh lol all of you who say that you ran it in 11.1 as a 14 year old haha that is the same time as cicinho and ronaldo clocked.

It's not rare anymore that athletic teenagers now a day can achieved 11 to 12 seconds in 100 meters.

First off, 100 meter times don't matter at all in football because you will never sprint that. What you should focus on is your 40 yard sprint time, not 100. And by the way, NFL(American Football) players run 10.4 and faster. The fastest i've heard of was a 4.1 on the 40 and a 10 flat on the 100 so its possible.

40 yard sprint or 40 yard-dash measure power of your run. The 100 meters really focus on the speed excel and endurance to keep at that pace.

You can not compare them like that, because you ruled of many attribute which each athleth has. Fourty's and one Hundred measure differently, you can not just do simply math. But you are right when will you run 100 meters on the pitch during the game.
