FORÇA BARÇA!

Yeah, explosive speed especially for strikers can overshadow a fast 100 m time. If you have a fast 40 m time, you are better off.

Wayne Rooney runs a 10.3 100 m

This site says Rommedahl has "reportedly run a 10.2 second 100m

http://www.euro2004.com/tournament/play ... yer=33118/

Other footballers that are probably sub-11 seconds: Nikolas Anelka, Phillip Lahm, Thierry Henry, Ivan Cordoba

BTW, only 33 different runners have officially broken the 10 second mark, and all of them were of African ancestry. Morne Nagel, a Dutch South African, may be the first caucasian (an African of non-African ancestry?) to break 10 seconds.

ryan giggs runs 100m in 10.4 seconds.

apparently at an arsenal training session ashley cole beat thierry henry in a 100m runing race! thts frikkin' quick!

i think the most explosiv player is obafemi martins or shaun wright-phillips. their acceleration is jst incredible.

yea B Heck i noticed tht in my newspaper where they listed the 100m records after tht Jamaican guy broke it (by a 100th of a second!).

Like i said in a previous post, 100 i can do in 12 secs easy... When i was 11 i ran it in 11.67, that sounds impossible, but its still a school record, beat everybody above me... hehehe.... Lol though i was short then a lighter, now im heavier and taller, so its abuot 11.8 - 12.4 easy for me.... But my stamina is very bad.... i have trouble running it through second half in a game coz i sprint so much...

I heard Ronaldo had the record as a soccer player. He right now has the record as the fastest player to run 40 meters in 3.88 seconds: http://www.realmadrid.com//articulo/rma24981.htm if you scroll to the 5th question.

I'm wondering if that was a running start, because that time is unbelievable for a standing start. 40 yards is shorter than 40 meters, and nobody has ever run a sub 4 second 40 yards. Ben Johnson's infamous Olympic sprint is estimated to have covered the first 40 yards in 4.38 seconds.

Ronaldo is still damned fast though. Look at his hamstring hanging down from his leg in the article. He's got sprinters legs.
