right one of my mates at school is really lanky(tall and thin) and hes convinced that he can become unlanky by doing weights and stuff. just wondered if anyone knew if this is real?
He will be stronger, but chances are if he's a lanky build with long arms and legs, he will never be stocky like Roberto Carlos. Reason being is that the muscle built on a more stretched out person has much longer fibers and therefore never is as clumped together as it is on a more compact person.
Of course it will change his physique but he has limits im afraid, if his natural build is lanky, hes just gonna have to try and beef up as much as he can and except he is never going to be Didier Drogba

It's possible to build up muscles if proper exercise and diet are involved. There are many programs to do, whether if he wants to gain total muscle, strenght, or both. He needs to get help one-on-one, because there is no way explaining in written words will help.

Look at crouch for example the lankiest of the lankies. If he decided that he show get some muscle that still would make him a lanky oaf wouldnt it. Just a big lanky oaf. Which means no matter how much muscle you have if you were lanky but you'll be lanky after.
Yeah, that's what I was trying to say. Look at the difference between Roberto Carlos and Vieira. Roberto Carlos may look all stocky and ripped while Vieira looks a bit gangly, but Vieira is possibly one of the strongest players in recent football.
