EDIT: Puma v1.08 sizing help

Post by drunkpark » 12 Feb 2009, 03:14

10R Cara FGs owners, do they really weigh 7.6oz????

http://www.soccer.com/IWCatProductPage. ... _Id=471435

Or is this somekind of mistake by soccer.com??
I don't know how many people would actually own these boots, since theyre so low end.. But still eager to find out.

Also besides Vapors, 1.08v.. what are some lightweight boots out there??

thanks

Might be size and material related?

Super Ligeria and adipures are pretty light leather boots.

I think it's a mistake, unless changing the color from black to yellow made the boot lighter. (black O Caras are 10.0 oz.)

EDIT: soccer.com made a typo. The junior versions are 7.6 oz. The full size ones are 10

Some other really light boots are Puma V1.08s (7.6 oz.) and Mercurial Vapors (8.1 oz.). I have the Pumas and I like them, for such a light shoe they don't leave blisters and also seem to protect the foot just as good as any other heavier boot.

Go run a bike and practice shotting, boot doesn't give you anything besides comfort, flexibility/stability, look those are the only things that boots should have, but now gimmicks are just creating false expectations with shot shields, swerve crap, lightweight that makes you run quicker, ball control things, etc.

ON Topic: That must be a mistake, at least i don't believe they are cous the Dois are damn comfy but aren't lightweight (well at least the ones i tried).

I am leaning towards Puma v1.08

http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prodinfo ... FILE=Speed

I wore F50.9 in 8.5 US, Vapor IV in 8.5, Vapor III in 9, F30.7 in 8.5...

What size should I get for v1.08??
I personally like almost no room in the front area. Also other v1.08s are listed as "regular fit", can anyone tell me why these are "small fit"?

Thanks in advance.

hi
I wore F50.9 in 8.5 US, Vapor IV in 8.5, Vapor III in 9, F30.7 in 8.5...
I wore the F50.8 in 9 1/2US and the v1.08 in 9 1/2US

I personally like almost no room in the front area. Also other v1.08s are listed as "regular fit", can anyone tell me why these are "small fit"?
there is a little bit more room in the F50's but almost no room in the v1.08...
soo i would say buy them in the same size like the 50's

Product discription from prodircetsoccer:
Anatomically Shaped AptoLast
The PUMA AptoLast sets a revolutionary benchmark for football footwear. Ergonomically as well as optically it closely follows the foot's natural shape and provides a glove like fit that allows the upper to mold prefectly to the players foot.

Maybe???

Puma V1.08's tend to run a size smaller than usual shoes/boots. I'm 10.5 generally in sandshoes/sneakers/football boots and I'm running around trouble-free in an 11.5 pair of the original colourway. PDS might have a display error with their size footprint there - although you'd be best off lodging an inquiry, I was curious about purchasing a pair of those as well considering the price-cut, although perhaps they might just be a junior pair. I'm hoping that the colourway just isn't selling - hence the price cut. :)

My v1.08 are US 9 1/2, UK 8 1/2, EUR(FR) 42 1/2, JPN 275

I already have the Nike Tiempo Ronaldinho: US 9, UK 8 , EUR(FR) 42 1/2, JPN 270

Question: Will buying a size 11 Puma V1.08 give both longer length AND width than a size 10.5? Or will it only the length change?

I'm looking to purchase a new pair of 10.5 Puma V1.08's for the new season instead of the size 11 as the width is fine (in the 11's) but the length still runs around a thumb's width long at the front. Will downsizing to a 10.5 give shorter length AND width? Or just shorter length? Certainly hope so. :)

In reference to K-Leather V1.08's - should I go down yet another half of a size (to size 10) as K-Leather tends to stretch more to mould to the foot?

EDIT: Planning on ordering a pair of V1.08's today or tomorrow from PDS as today's pay-day, if anyone's got any tips on this sizing issue let me know.

So I picked up the v1.08 from a local football store. Got the size US8.5. (I wear F50, F30, MVIV in 8.5 and MVIII in 9 US)

So ofcoure I tried them on before purchasing with thick socks and everything and it fitted perfectly with no discomfort what so ever.

But after in two competitive matches and I realize I shoulda got them in 9. Thing about 1.08 is that toe part is like a hard plastic wall so everytime I cut back or change directions my middle toe hits that wall. Causing a dead toe nail. It's pretty painful. And I did get blisters on them which I understand b/c it's a new cleat. One on the heel like the MV gives and upper heel cut. Also I have history of Jones Fracture, and that section of my foot started to hurting pretty bad after wearing these, I realize that it was because cushioning is thin as hell.

So fellows I recommend half size up. When you are getting these.

PS: I did play in very terrible pitch, which might have some factor in it. I still recommend these cleats they are so light and good touch, just not in bad pitches.
