Can you injure your meniscus from overuse?

Is it possible? Usually it would happen from a twist, and there would be swelling. My knee hasn't swollen, and I have no recelection of anything acute to it, but my symptons seem to lean to a meniscus bruise/tear. I know I need a proffesional diagnoses, but my parents still havn't organised anything...
