Thanks for the welcome! I hope I can pick up some tips off you guys - I think most of you have gone further in the game than me!

I think these articles are excellent. Having been in the footballing wilderness for a few years, and getting to the age where dreams start to slip away (I've just turned 20) this article was a breath of fresh air. Inspirational, motivating... reading these has inspired me to get back in training and...

Well, perhaps they should have got a bigger fine, and maybe playing behind closed doors for longer would help... UEFA seem to have let them off a bit lightly, if you ask me. What a pity that amid all this controversy, Shevchenko's blistering strike has been pretty much forgotten. It's understandable...

That kid is something else.... I've never seen someone that young body swerve that well without losing speed.

And don't even get me started on his shooting. He's better than I am and I've got an 11 year start on him!

Yeah, I suppose in a flat race Henry would probably beat any other player in the world. But I can't get the clip of Martins going around Stam out of my head... that boy has hunger, man!

Martins is lightning. Coupled with his determination (did anybody see him fighting for the ball with Stam? in the Champions League?) this makes him the paciest player in the game.

It's too fast, no time whatsoever, its basically shielding the ball Surely not? I find it's got more to do with excellent first touch, quick turns and lots of stamina. You can try to simply shield the ball, but that's the boring way to play. :) Also, 5000 keepy-uppies? Pretty damn good, if I say so...

Whilst athleticism is always very important (if the man you are marking can run for twice as long as you, or twice as fast it's not going to be very easy to out-do him), it is nothing on pure skill. If you don't have the pace to skin somebody, do you have the talent to send him the wrong way, make y...

What an oppurtunity! Even if you are completely school-girled, as it were, by some of the better players then you can't help but get a few pointers, and maybe pick up a new trick/flick or two.

But then again, maybe you will shine... and who knows where that could lead? Go for it!

Goal!

Losing 4-2, County Cup Quarter-Final, U15's. I'm playing left wing-back, and therefore have been taking nigh on every throw in on my side of the pitch. But my striker friend (he of titanic arms and Herculean strength) an I had come up with a little ploy. As he collected the ball (where it had gone ...

Magicfeet at your service!

Magicfeet at your service! I've been reading the site off and on for some time now, and have just about decided it's the best football site available on the net. A wealth of knowledge on every aspect of the game is available, and other players seem very helpful when it comes to giving advice on play...
