Re: Football Magazines

I've been thinking about subscribing to a soccer magazine again. As a kid I would get a subscribtion to World Soccer from my grandma for christmas every year, but not in the last 3/4 years. I always felt too young for the type of articles that magazine had. I always preferred reading something like ...

Re: White Angels

Never read it but the movie was awesome. I wish I had been a fan while Clough was still a manager.

What do you guys think of this? Do you think players storming off will be the new trend in answer to fan-racism? or is it just because it was a friendly?

White Angels

Has anyone read this book? Its about Real Madrid in the early 2000's, mostly regarding Beckham's transfer in 2003. Its really well written, and offers an interesting perspective on the marketing aspect of the Galactico era. One of my favourite soccer books to date.

Crazy

A few nights ago, I had some friends over at my house for some drinking/hanging out. Mostly people from my old soccer team that went seperate ways and were catching up after several months at different colleges/jobs/cities etc. The next morning, one of my friends car was missing. We figured it must ...

Received a cheque in the mail yesterday

Yesterday in the mail I received the first installment of my soccer scholarship - a cheque large enough to cover a considerable portion of next terms tuition. After thinking about it for a few minutes, I realized that I had finally achieved my life-long dream of getting paid to play soccer. Its not ...

Re: Chelsea's Run of Form

I have to agree that Luiz is better suited to defensive mid. He always seemed liable to make at least one big mistake per game when he was at center back. I personally think Rafa's a decent manager. He's won a good amount of trophies with Valencia and Liverpool. As far as I can tell, he knows how to...

Falcao, but tbh I didn't know much about him until the last 12 months or so.

Re: The Ten Commandments of the Game

1. Thou shalt not take upon thyself opposing defenders in thine own box, for doing so a bollocking from thy coach shalt thou receive. 2. Thou shalt through thine opponent's legs manoever thy ball, and upon this act shall thy team mates rejoice. 3. Thou shalt press thy opposing back 4 with hunger and...

Re: Conneticut elementary school shooting

It's a horrible tragedy. It's to be honest, very hard to determine if it was preventable. But, I will say this, I am so sick and tired of hearing extremist gun control activists and pacifists give their insights and opinions. I am a firearms advocate- I'll say it openly and plainly, I like guns, I ...

Re: Who's your favorite player?

Lately for me its been Philip Lahm. In the last two years or so I've watched almost every Bayern Munich and Germany game, and have been hugely impressed by Lahm's football intelligence and leadership. For me, he is one of the most under rated fullbacks in the world. Good tackler, good decision maker...

Conneticut elementary school shooting

Driving home today, I heard on the radio that there was a mass shooting at an elementary school in Conneticut today. Checking the news when I got home, it looks like almost 30 people were killed, the majority of which would have been young kids. Unbelievable. I'm sure most of you have heard about th...

Re: Let's Talk Messi.

I agree that Messi has benefited from the midfield maestros that Barcelona is so lucky to have, but you can't deny that alot of his goals are the result of his own individual brilliance. Iniesta and Xavi are great at supplying and assisting Messi, but they aren't involved when Messi dribbles right t...

Your opinion on Breaking Bad

In the year without EF, I started watching Breaking Bad on netflix. Never thought I'd like a tv show as much as I like BB, the plot, the characters, the writing, the cinematography.. Everything about it is 10/10 in my opinion.

Anyone else love this show?
