Re: Football Coaching in Chuuk

Sounds cool.
Unfortunately things are a little slow on the forums at the moment,
so it's hard to get much exposure,
nevertheless I do wish you luck :)

Re: JDefoe- Some insight on technical skills

Hey JDefoe. :)
Yep, that's a good way to look at it.
Also, coaches tend to care more about tactical mistakes since they can direct/instruct you right there on the spot.

Re: I'm a complete beginner...Any tips?

Hello and welcome to the forums. Yea, high school soccer can be fun, even if you never played before. Typically, you should be fine as long as you have some level of fitness. You would probably do well if you can run up and down the field and pass the ball. If want to be really committed, get in the...

I realize the new layout looks a bit generic.
But this way we can upgrade the forums easily when a new version of phpBB is out.

Re: Contact Areas Of The Foot

Whatever works for ya, man. :)
The instep in general is good for hard, low shots.
The blue rectangle could work too - when you lean to the side or take volleys.
I think the exact contact area is not that important as
long as you drive your ankle well and have have good coordination.

Re: Contact Areas Of The Foot

Hey Robert, and welcome to the forums.
Sure, the blue area is good for striking the ball and for taking goal kicks.
Contact area is only half of it though. :)

Re: Beginner freestyler

Hello. I used to freestyle a little bit but never got really good (nothing beyond TATW). For me, it's more about style and making the moves "your own". What I mean is, there are freestylers who just perform simple tricks - but never falter and make it look effortless. Also, some people are good at g...

Re: Running advice

Hey, just keep training - you'll get fitter with time. Jogging long distance (over 20 minutes) is good for the heart. Alternating between sprints and light jogging (15-20 minutes) is good for building up your legs and endurance. Also, it depends on your age, if you're 13 or younger you probably want...

Re: Help Creating a Training Routine

Thanks, Shawn. Yep, I know what you mean. It's hard to practice on your own without getting distracted. It can be enjoyable too, once you start to see improvements. So yeah, just keep at it! :)
