skill a week

Alright, I am currently playing for my school soccer team and club team and also working out by myself. When the off season comes around I want to start a training routine. I was wondering, would the best route to go be working on every skill the days you go? I was thinking about having each week be...

Yeah he's right. You don't wanna run in them or anything because the ankle weights make it easier to hurt your ankle.

Just wearing them walking around is good though.

You have to do interval training. I know very little about this subject, and I'm sure someone else on this site will tell you better but basically its this: 1/2 pace for 30 meters, walk 10 meters, sprint 15 meters, skip 12 meters, walk 5 meters, 3/4 pace 20 meters. That's not a certain training meth...

Personally, I like biking better. I go further and when I say "I biked 5 miles" it makes me feel like I accomplished more than when I say "I ran 2 miles."

You should still run, but I like biking better.

Soccer Junkie's freestyle log

Alrighty then, I haven't seen one of these and decided to start a freestyle log. As of now I pretty much suck at juggling. Tonite my record for right alone is 29, left alone is 6 (yeah pathetic huh) and for both its 12. I can stall it on my right foot for a while but that's the only stall I can do. ...

getting spotted at tryouts

Well I just finished my second day of a 4 day try out. There are 35 people trying out and only 18 make the team. I am easily good enough to be on the team, but at the tryouts the coach is doing more scrimages and group work instead of individual work. I dont think the coach is seeing what I can do. ...

I read in a health magazine that on a cycling machine (I'm not sure if this works on a real bike too) if you only pedal with one foot, it works your hamstrings because not only do you have to push the pedal down, but you have to pull it back up.

creativity

Last night at practice we were doing 1v1's and my coach was complaining that we were boring him because of lack of creativity. We were doing tricks to get by, but obviously that wasn't good enough. What kinds of things could I do to be more creative when beating an opponent?

Well stay in school but still train. If you are going to try out over the summer then I don't see the problem.

The only way it poses a problem is if you make the team but want to stay in school. But deal with that when you get there.

Cryuff is a good dribbler, but I think he beat so many guys in that video is more because of his speed.

If you watch it, you notice he is faster than most guys when he has the ball and they don't.

Heavy weights with low reps is for mass.
Light weight high reps is for endurance.

I was told to do something in between (medium weight with about 8-10 reps) to get lean muscles.

Also stretch to stay flexible if you are planning on gaining mass.

I read somewhere that the most effective way to train your abs is to have one motion exercise and one hold a position type exercise (i.e. planks and crunches)
