Whenever you are learning a new section in algebra class what do you do? You practice learning the solution over and over. How about when you are in the gym lifting weights? You don't get stronger just because you are bench pressing more weight, but because you are doing repititions. Repetition is t...

I'm 5'6'' but I have something that most players don't have. Mental Toughness is an advantage that I'm able to use. Look at the Italian defender Cannavaro. He is a nuisance to every striker he challenges. He can win headers against guys that are 6-8 inches taller then him. Plus he also knows his rol...

The best way to get noticed is by going on your state association's web page and learning about the state's ODP team (Olympic Development Program which is basically the state team). If you manage to make the ODP team you would try out for whichever one of the four regions you belong to. Now understa...

I suggest that youi look him in his eyes. From there you can see where hes going to pass/dribble (if hes not ronaldihno -.-) That is actually not what you want to do. Watching a player's eyes will only mislead you. Make sure that you watch the ball at all times! I cannot stress this enough. I just ...

I've played baseball, basketball, football, and of course soccer. All of these sports require thinking and I would place basketball and soccer at the top of the list. Basketball is very quick and compact. It is back-and-forth, up and down, etc. Soccer is quick and open. Both sports require more endu...

What school do you go to? I go to Mesquite High near Dallas. If he's fat just use your quickness to mess him up. If he can't catch you, he can't push you.

I'm a ref as well and believe if your team mate gets a clear chance to score, I'll let him. Not the ref's fault your guy missed the shot.

I know this is an old thread, but I have something to say. During high school season, I was defending against a player from Solar '89 (3rd in Nation from 89 group) and he was making a full run straight at me just outside the 18 yard box. I stepped up a little bit and bent down low trying to force hi...

I've been trying to figure out an individual practice for defenders, and there really are no drills for defending alone. There are drills for backpedaling, side to side, speed. Also drills for strength, and you need to be awesome at the basics.

Since I go to a school where most of our players are from Mexico, we play Mexico vs. USA a lot. Fun stuff and we [USA] usually win. The Guatemalans are a challenge but we tear a new one for the Lebanese. We have two kids from Jerusalem, but they don't stand much of a chance.

Man boobs eh? :P Funny stuff, but yeah, if you want to "shake" your pectorals you need to build the muscles around your chest and shoulders. I can't shake my chest so find someone that can and ask them the exercises that made them capable of doing it.

Being a defender as well, here's what I would do. First, go for the try outs as a defender, and tell the coaches that you might be pretty good at forward too. Coaches always enjoy a multi-skilled player. One of the forwards on my competitive team knows how to play as a defender as well, which has pr...
