Hi all. I'm thinking (not buying) about what soccer cleats might work for me. I play goalkeeper but I might be playing the field some. My specialty is one versus one with an attacker. I get hit a lot, for example the last game I played I got a cleat to the head twice and that wasn't all of it. There...
Hi all. I am a goalkeeper for a d3 boys u16 travel team on Long Island NY. As much as I love goalkeeping, I am compelled to equal my skill in it on the other end of the pitch. I started practicing field skills a few months ago. I practice as much as I can but I have no partner or special training eq...
Park is pretty fast on the pitch when it counts. I'm of a similar mind as Had2b, he's one of the guys on MU that I don't hate. A useful addition to any offense.
I think he's a very valuable player. I haven't seen him play enough to give a full evaluation, but he can do some pretty awesome stuff. I don't think he's one of the greatest but still, awsome player.
Panchester, I was unclear. I meant that you should slide for the ball not the player, but the two coincide oftenly. To rephrase: if the ball rolls too far from the offender, take the ball with a slide.

I was just kidding about the angry part. keep a cool head, but be aggressive when necessary. You might get...
it's not all in the legs. When you stretch, you twist in the air (or should) to get a few more inches. Work on your core, especially the side muscles that start with an "O". Plyometrics will be your best friend. The next part is agility. Take a few side steps before you dive (1 or 2). Also keep in t...
I'm 15 and I play keeper for a div. 2 team on Long Island, NY. I have a serious problem: I am good enough with almost every aspect of goalkeeping technique except for catching an incoming ball with the hands only. I can usually cheat my way around this because I can smother on the ground or in my st...
When you make a dive for a rolling ball, push your outside leg (not the one next to the ground) upwards. This helps you get a bit more momentum, sometimes just enough for the tip-away. Also if the ball is within leg's reach but moving at high speed (so that if you dive it will be too late and the ba...
