Hip flexor pain
Hello injury my old friend. I had a fitness session with my team last night. It was very hard on the legs, with lots of sprinting, jumping, squats, lunges etc. At one point we were doing relay races, where you'd sprint to a cone, do 5 sit ups, back pedal to another cone, then sprint back. Since it w...

Re: The end of my career
That really sucks that it hasn't worked out for you Collin. Based on your posts from before the forum went down, we could all tell how driven you were and I would say that not many members of this forum deserved success more than you. I agree, this sport can be a cold, heartless bitch sometimes and ...

I think United should sell Welbeck
No one I talk to agrees with me on this, and I wanted to make a thread to see what you guys all think. I think United should sell Welbeck. As a goal scoring or goal creating option I don't see his effectiveness. He doesn't score enough, he doesn't assist enough. His touch in and around the box alway...

Re: Tactical discussion of a Europan Classic Man Utd vs Madr
Well maybe Ferguson learned his lesson after the the final in 2011. Better to let the spanish teams keep the ball and go for the counter attack. Regardless of all the possesion Madrid had, I think United should have won. Giggs and Van Persie both had easy chances. I was surprised that our only goal ...

Re: Tactical discussion of a Europan Classic Man Utd vs Madr
Interesting predictions.. I've only watched a few real madrid games this season, so am unfit to judge them, but I believe they have the upper hand. United haven't been in the CL knockout rounds in like, 20 months, and have had relatively easy European opposition since then. (Benfica, Basel, Galatasa...

Re: ScottS4's new routine
Well I went to the Tuesday morning drop in this morning and wouldn't you know it, I reaggravated an old injury and I'll probably be resting for atleast a week. God fu**ing damn it. And of course, I get the call tonight from the head coach, asking if I can play for the first team tonight. (I play for...

ScottS4's new routine
Since the outdoor season starts in less than 3 months, I think it's time for me to get my sh*t together and start serious training again. I recently did fitness testing with my team, and I was nowhere near where I was before, or where I should be. I feel like I've been coasting since November, and t...

Re: Languages?
Very interesting, expert! It's not the same deal, I know, but I had a friend born in the Czech Republic who also lived in Singapore and Texas before he came to Canada. His English is perfect, since he was about 7 when he ended up here, but he said he'd wake up thinking in Czech sometimes, and that ...

Re: Advice on my situation
I don't think geography dictates how football is perceived by professional clubs. I believe that no matter where you go in the world, you will find both serious and non serious programs. Maybe the UAE is different due to the situation over there, but I find it hard to believe that every club in the ...

Re: Languages?
Thats awesome man, I wish I had grown up in a bilingual environment. I'm jealous of people who can switch effortlessly from one language to another. (You see that alot in Canada, due to the amount of immigration) Most of my friends growing up were from other countries, and whenever I went to their h...

Languages?
This year I got bitten by the language bug, and have become really interested in language learning and becoming a "polyglot," (someone who speaks multiple languages.) I've been taking german classes at university this year, and have also re-taught myself all the spanish that I learned in highschool....

Re: Does your playstyle affect your position ?
I think in many cases your physique and physical attributes define your strengths as a player, which ultimately determines what position you should play. Obviously there are exceptions, but you won't see many 5''6 players winning headers at center back, nor many 6''4, 190lb players dribbling through...

Re: Underrated .
I agree about Ozil, easily one of the best play makers in the world. Since the world cup he's been one of my favourite players. Its too bad both he and Kaka play in the same position, Ozil is probably to blame for Kaka not thriving at Real Madrid in the last few years.
