How to be perceived as a good player on the pitch

Hey guys, Can you tell me what steps are necessary to have a projection of intermediate+ skill level on the pitch? What are the things that newbies falter on that immediately suggest beginner, as opposed to players who know what to do or where to go? I think it is time for me to start proving myself...

I've noticed in all the 90 minute games I've played, that the first muscles to go from exhaustion are my calves... once on the field my calf cramped up and I couldn't run anymore (pretty painful) but that was the only muscle that I experienced this sort of fatigue from. I think the acceleration fact...

Kaka, The only reason I added a P.S. post is so people would read it and respond; I wasn't sure that if I added a tail to a preexisting post that everyone would get a chance to read it and respond... How is it possible for you to have your foot perpendicular to the ground? There's no way you can hit...

The 10 commandments

Hi, Playing in leagues, my team members sometimes shoot out quick advice on things I didn't know to do or not to do. For example, in a recent game I was defending near our goal and when I tackled the ball free I had to shoot the ball away; thing is, I kicked it towards the center and not on the outs...

Yeah I was trying to practice it without kicking the ball. I would stand (when kicking with the L foot) with my right hand holding onto a wall or the net for balance, and just trying and get the swing path down (as well as the contact point on the ball). I'm just afraid that, without someone knowled...

a P.S. from my post "Potential Causes for Inaccurate Kicks"

Hey guys, I was just wondering if you had any practical drills that will help me rework the aspects of my striking leg and foot position... In the former post I illustrated that every shot (which happened tonight; struck hundreds of shots trying to get straight spin and 0% result with the instep...e...

I'm jealous of all of you. I didn't have the opportunity to learn the skills in grade school or high school, just self taught from age 22-23 now. It's much harder, I can imagine, to learn at this point than it is a younger kid. Count yourselves blessed that you have the ability to perfect technique ...

ah, I see. but the knee snap has to be led by the kneecap or else the lower leg snaps upwards with little power and much loft right? It's such a split second moment of body movement but it truly makes all the difference in the world doesn't it

Is it too late for me to be a great amateur player?

I'm 23, and have been playing football competitively for about one year. Being self-taught (through books and videos, as well as tapping friends that play well for info and guidance), I've found it quite difficult to compete with those who have had the grace of high school football and earlier...aft...

Support foot positioning in an outside curve

I know that many topics have discussed form for an outside curve kick, but I still cannot figure out where to put the supporting foot in this kick. To me, and hopefully I'm not alone, this kick is such an awkward position that I can't do it at all. It involves the outside of the foot (do you guys be...

Well, ideally a low straight shot with little to no spin. I can already reproduce an inside curve pretty well, but am baffled at my inability to strike straight and I feel that this leg angle has something to do with it.
