I don't mean to challenge you right after Icy, as I'm sure that's the last type of reply you want to have, but I would like to add that being aerobically fit will not help much (but you'll still see some improvement) without any anaerobic training. Soccer/Football is far from a continuous pace spor...

It's actually pretty easy to get very fit within 1-2months . Check the "training" section of this site- it has some good tips. Good luck! Both of those aren't correct. It's neither easy nor possible to get "very" fit in 1-2 monthes. If this was the case then the "very fit" would be a standard a lit...

Sorry rzadzinski, that post was aimed that the first poster. I should have made that clear.

Having said that, 2:25 is very good for a 14yr old - well done! :D

(By the way - you can improve your 800m time by training for football as both rely on similar energy systems etc.)

You haven't told us how much you train or play with your team.

2:40mins is pretty good for an untrained person but you would be looking for at least 2:20 by the time you are 15/16 if you train 4/5x a week.

I find that it helps if you can control the ball before it has the chance to bounce. Obviously, you need to rely on good passing from your team mates... I wouldn't get discouraged though. Some of the world's best players have come from Brazil's favela's, where the ground is really uneven and there a...

It would be fantastic if you got into Vitesse (who are pretty good). Velp is a good option as well as you could probably break into their first team earlier (provided that you are good - I don't know you) and get noticed by clubs in higher divisions by the time you are 20yrs old or something. Anyway...

Sounds like a bad strain.... I would give it another 3-4 days of rest then start to ease in with LIGHT training. After this I would strengthen the area to stop it happening again. AJC's suggestion is great; if you can't be bothered to get resistance bands, you can simply do this simple exercise: 1) ...

Don't forwards/wingers use their chest/shoulders to fake?

I always watch the ball, seems to work fairly well.

Thoughts?

Heh..... calves don't have much to do with body type... tendon/ligament attachments are genetic.

I'm between meso-endo, for what it's worth.

Don't think so.... it's a pretty small documentary, but I found it pretty interesting.

It tells you how the system works in pro academies and shows you how hard it is to make it in pro football.

When the gaffer says "no"

I don't know if you can hear this over in the states.... sometimes the BBC only allows UK listeners. Anyway, thought I post this, in case someone found it interesting. "It's every young footballer's dream to make it to the big time. But how do you get that first professional contract? Each year thou...

Rulezzz - I pretty much agree with what you are saying. It seems to me that there are many excellent left backs but not so many great right backs.... apart from Daniel Alves, I don't think many right backs could command a transfer fee of over £10m ($20m?) PS: Btw, I wasn't insulting right backs, I'm...
